Frustrated Fan Demands Gates After FrontPage Fail
A devoted Van Halen fan's frustration with Microsoft's FrontPage service boiled over into a drunken phone call to the company. The caller, who was progressively more inebriated throughout the conversation, demanded to speak to Bill Gates after becoming exasperated with the web editor.
According to Microsoft veteran Raymond Chen, the fan initially vented his frustration with the software's inability to function as intended. As the call continued, the sound of ice clinking in a glass became apparent, and the caller's language grew increasingly belligerent.
The fan eventually shouted 'You're not even a real f**king fan of Van Halen!' before declaring his desire to speak with Gates. Chen doubts that the caller was ever connected with the Microsoft CEO.
