FTC Expands Amazon Prime User Eligibility for $2.5 Billion Settlement Payments
The US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has made key changes to the $2.5 billion settlement payments that Amazon Prime users in the US could be eligible for.
As of September 2026, more than $845 million had been issued as part of the consumer redress program, but millions of additional Prime users are now eligible for automatic refunds under the revised order.
The maximum total payment has risen to $200, with no claim form required. Consumers will receive payments electronically through PayPal or Venmo, or by mailed cheque, and those who have already received a settlement payment may be eligible for up to another $149 in additional payments starting from April 2027.
The FTC warns that consumers do not need to pay anyone or provide money to receive a refund and cautions against potential scams linked to the settlement.
