Futures Rise as Disney Earnings and Iran Hopes Boost Markets
US stock futures edged higher on Wednesday morning, driven by strong corporate earnings reports and hopes for a deal to end fighting in Iran.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average futures rose 0.3%, while S&P 500 futures added 0.4% and Nasdaq futures gained 0.2%.
Walt Disney Co.'s $1 billion box office haul from 'Toy Story 5' and strong results at its US theme parks contributed to higher profits in the quarter ended June, pushing up the stock by 3.4% in premarket trading.
Oil prices resumed their ascent, with Brent crude gaining 1.15% to $80.28 per barrel early Wednesday, despite earlier losses as hopes rose for progress toward a full reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.
