'Game Changer' Tackles Intellectual Property in 'Don't Wake Standards and Practices'

The popular show 'Game Changer' has kicked off its eighth season with an episode titled 'Don't Wake Standards and Practices', which pokes fun at various copyrighted intellectual properties, including Disney, Star Wars, McDonald's, Coca-Cola, and Bluey. The show's host, Sam Reich, welcomed three comedians, Lou Wilson, Ally Beardsley, and Jeremy Culhane, to a set designed to resemble the board game Don't Wake Daddy.

Each player was given prompts by Reich, aiming to push the envelope for comedy without crossing into a 'legal danger zone'. To determine the boundaries of what could be shown, real-life lawyers Devin Stone, Alexis Noel, and Iya Baclagan served as judges, awarding points and penalties.

In an interview with Mashable, Reich explained that they had rolled the dice on making this episode, but their lawyers allowed them to keep everything. The context of the show's commentary and the fact that they are not advertiser-supported also helped them navigate the legal implications.
