Gears of War Controllers Unleashed Ahead of Emergence Day

Microsoft is getting into the holiday spirit with two new Xbox controllers inspired by its upcoming game Gears of War. The first, the Gears of War: E-Day Limited Edition Xbox Wireless Controller, will be available for pre-order starting today and costs $89.99. It features a unique design that mirrors the game's grim visual language, with crackled asphalt and bright red lines giving it a brutal appearance.

The controller also has transparent red buttons and triggers, as well as a dark silver COG tag attached to the battery door with the slogan 'Never Fight Alone'. Despite its theming, the controller is a regular Xbox Wireless Controller that works on both Series X and S consoles, as well as Windows PCs, phones, and tablets.

A second option will be available starting September 30th through the Xbox Design Lab. This fully customizable version features a top shell designed by British artist Luke Preece, which displays a skull resting on two crossed Chainsaw Lancers. Users can then add various extras to their controller, including metallic triggers and button styles.

The special controllers will come with an 8BitDo Ultimate Charging Dock, also done out in the Gears of War theme, which features magnetic alignment and drop-and-charge capability.
