Gemini 4 Release Pressure Mounts as Google's AI Model Enters Post-Training
Google's flagship artificial intelligence model, Gemini, has entered post-training, putting pressure on the company to release Gemini 4 before the end of 2026. This marks a significant milestone in the development process.
Koray Kavukcuoglu, Google DeepMind senior vice president, stated that Gemini 4 is already being tested on Antigravity, Google's coding platform. The company plans to publish early post-training results and then continue improving the model through rapid iterations.
This shift in focus follows delays involving Gemini 3.5 Pro, which was initially set for release in June but has yet to materialize. Kavukcuoglu explained that resources were redirected towards faster, smaller Flash models instead of continuing to delay the flagship model.
