Gemini Takes Over Business Calls on Pixel 11 Devices

Google has introduced a new feature on its Pixel 11 device that allows users to delegate calls to local businesses to Gemini, an AI-powered assistant. This feature is currently available as an early experiment for Pixel 11 owners in the US who are enrolled in the Phone by Google Public Beta and have a paid subscription to Gemini.

The 'Call for me' feature uses Gemini's AI to navigate automated phone menus, wait on hold, and handle conversations with business representatives. Users can also take control of the conversation at any time through a live transcript view.

This is not the first time Google has explored automated calling features. Last year, it introduced a similar 'Call for me' feature that lets Gemini call businesses to ask about product availability, but users were unable to take over those calls.
