Generac Lands $2.4B Deal with Amazon for Backup Generators
Generac Holdings has signed a long-term strategic supply agreement with Amazon for industrial generators and related products and services. Under this deal, Amazon will purchase Generac's backup generators for data center applications worldwide. As part of the agreement, Amazon receives an equity warrant that can deliver approximately 1.69 million Generac shares, representing about 2.6% of fully diluted shares.
The warrant economics are tied to Amazon's cumulative purchasing activity, with vesting occurring in tranches based on billion-dollar increments until a total of $8.0 billion is reached by 2033. This agreement marks a significant milestone for Generac, solidifying its position as a leading provider of backup generators for data centers.
Barclays has reiterated an Equalweight rating and $278 price target on Generac Holdings following the announcement of this deal. Analysts have responded positively to Generac's recent performance and agreements, with Cantor Fitzgerald raising its price target to $333, citing confidence in the company's data center strength.
