Generac Soars on $8 Billion Amazon Data Center Deal
Generac Holdings Inc. (NYSE:GNRC) made significant gains Thursday morning after announcing a long-term supply agreement with Amazon.com Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) to provide industrial backup generators for its global data center infrastructure.
The deal is worth up to $8 billion over the life of the contract, with initial deliveries totaling $2.4 billion across 2027 and 2028.
This marks a major expansion of Generac's role in backup power for large computing facilities, which has become a binding constraint on data center buildouts due to increasing cloud and AI workloads.
