Global Village Dethrones Disney's Magic Kingdom as World's Top Theme Park

Dubai's Global Village has surpassed Disney World's Magic Kingdom as the world's most-visited theme park, according to data from the Themed Entertainment Association (TEA). The latest TEA figures show that Global Village attracted an average of 49,505 visitors per day in 2024, while Magic Kingdom welcomed around 48,732 daily visitors. This marks a significant shift for Global Village, which operates for roughly half as many days and with fewer hours each day compared to Magic Kingdom.

The data also reveals that despite its shorter operating hours, Global Village boasts higher annual attendance than several other Disney and Universal theme parks, including Animal Kingdom, Hong Kong Disneyland, Universal Studios Florida, and Universal Studios Hollywood. The TEA has not included Global Village in its rankings due to its classification as a 'multi-cultural festival/fairground' rather than a traditional theme park.

Edward Shaw, principal of Entertainment + Culture Advisors, explained that the consultancy firm behind the TEA data considers Global Village to be outside their traditional definition of a theme park. However, Shaw noted that the categories and facilities included in the rankings are subject to review and revision.
