Godavari Initiative Marks Second Anniversary with New Phase and Coca-Cola Partnership

The Godavari Initiative (TGI), a basin-level collective action platform, marked its second anniversary at the Water Stewardship Dialogue in Mumbai. TGI has been working towards source sustainability and a resilient future for the Godavari River Basin.

Over the past two years, TGI has built an expanding ecosystem of partners and developed its Impact Aggregator to bring interventions, organisations, and evidence into a common basin-level view. The initiative also engaged IUCN India to strengthen standardisation around Nature-based Solutions and integrated frameworks such as RECAP4NDC.

The next phase of TGI will focus on deeper on-ground action, stronger government convergence, basin intelligence, and collaborative investment pathways. The Coca-Cola Foundation has joined the initiative as the new Basin Champion, building on the foundation established with Diageo India.
