Goldman Sachs' Junior-Laden Workforce Revealed by FINRA Data
Data from the Financial Industry Regulation Authority (FINRA) reveals that Goldman Sachs employs some of the least experienced bankers in New York, with an average of just 8.3 years of registered-broker experience.
In contrast, Citi and Bank of America have a more seasoned workforce, averaging around 10 years of experience. JPMorgan and Morgan Stanley fall somewhere in between.
The disparity is largely due to Goldman's high proportion of junior employees, people with up to three years of experience. A staggering 40% of Goldman's FINRA-registered workforce falls into this category, compared to 33% at Citi.
