Google Ads Allows Different Business Names for Some Advertisers
Google Ads will introduce a change to its business name policy, allowing some advertisers to use a different business name than their ad's destination domain. This new policy is set to take effect in October 2026 and applies to specific cases where the advertiser maintains a verified relationship with the domain owner and accurately reflects their recognized brand name.
The change will allow businesses to have a business name that differs from their website domain, as long as they meet certain conditions. These include maintaining a verified direct relationship between the advertiser and the domain owner, accurately reflecting their recognized brand name, and having products or services directly offered in the destination domain.
However, this policy does not apply to third-party resellers, independent booking intermediaries, affiliate distributors, and secondary sellers, who are prohibited from using the standalone brand name of the goods, services, or properties they offer as their business name.
