Google Ads recently updated its AI Max help documentation to address keyword prioritization for exact match. When disabling broad match campaign settings or switching to AI Max, Google clarified that broad keywords are no longer treated as exact match keywords in prioritization.

To maintain this keyword prioritization without the broad match campaign setting enabled, users need to add copies of exact match keywords to their new AI Max campaign. However, doing so will result in the loss of historical keyword statistics.

The update provides clear guidance on how to handle this transition within AI Max, allowing users to prioritize exact match keywords while maintaining their existing settings.
