Google Agrees to $1.1 Billion Deal with Monroe County Over Data Center
Monroe County and Google have agreed on a massive deal that will bring in over $1.1 billion in revenue for local government over the next two decades, thanks to the planned data center at Rumble Road.
The agreement, which was unanimously approved by Monroe County's development authority, sets fixed Payment in Lieu of Taxes (PILOT) payments from Google over the next 20 years.
Under the deal, Google will pay $442 million to Monroe County government, $632 million to Monroe County schools, and $64.7 million to the development authority over the next two decades.
