Google Aims for Global AI Literacy with 100,000 Scholarships

Every day on Google Search, people ask how to get started with AI. To address this, Google is partnering with the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and other organizations through the AI Skills Coalition. This initiative aims to provide high-quality AI learning accessible to everyone, everywhere.

The coalition will offer 100,000 scholarships for participants across more than 80 countries. These scholarships will complement over 200 courses in the coalition's catalogue. The training provides practical skills, recognized certificates, and locally led programs designed to support national workforce priorities.

Google is tracking scholarship activation and utilization, learner participation and completion, and certificates earned. This will help generate evidence on what works and improve the provision of AI options for learners globally.
