Google app settings get card-style redesign for better navigation
Google is preparing a major redesign for the settings menu within its Google app, shifting to a card-style layout aimed at improving user experience. This change was first spotted in version 17.64.13 of the app, though the company has not yet announced a release date. The update follows a similar reorganization seen in the Gemini app, suggesting a broader push toward more intuitive navigation.
The current settings menu presents all options in a long, linear list, separated by broad categories like Privacy and Safety, Notifications, and Gemini. The upcoming redesign will reorganize these settings into distinct cards, each representing a different sub-menu. For example, the Privacy and Safety card will include sub-menus for Privacy and Safety, SafeSearch, and Results about You, all grouped under one card for easier access.
Another key addition is a card labeled Your App Experience, which will sit at the top of the settings menu. This card will include sub-menus for Notifications, Search Personalization, and Voice. While the visual changes are not drastic, the new layout is designed to enhance visibility and streamline the process of finding and adjusting settings.
