Google Brings Material 3 Expressive Design to iOS Apps with Liquid Glass

Google is gradually incorporating its Material 3 Expressive design language and Liquid Glass material into its iOS apps. This integration began a year after Liquid Glass was first introduced.

The Google Photos app on iOS now features a floating bottom bar with a transparent background, which can be customized to different levels of translucency. The same update has been applied to buttons in the top bar and the navigation element in Google Health.

While some apps have already adopted Material 3, others like Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Keep are still in the process of being updated. It's worth noting that Dynamic Color, a feature that allows users to change accent colors across all system-level Android features, has not been added to iOS apps.

Google is phasing out its previous Material Theme design language on iOS as part of this update.
