Bangladesh Open for Business: PM Invites Wall Street Firms to Invest
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman invited Wall Street firms to invest in Bangladesh during a breakfast meeting hosted by JPMorgan Chase in Manhattan.
The prime minister emphasized that Bangladesh is 'open for business' and wants to become a strong platform for investors seeking access to the wider regional market.
Bangladesh has a young population, growing market, and strategic location, making it an attractive destination for investment. The government aims to build a one-trillion-dollar economy by 2034 and position Bangladesh as a globally connected manufacturing, investment, and services hub.
The prime minister highlighted the country's efforts to deepen economic ties with major global economies through deregulation, stronger investor protection, easier regulations, improved tax administration, and better infrastructure. He also mentioned the signing of a Reciprocal Trade Agreement with the United States and new economic arrangements with Japan and South Korea.
