Google Brings Social Media Data to Search Console
Google has introduced 'platform properties' in Search Console to help website owners and creators understand how their social and video posts perform across Google Search and Discover.
The new feature provides three reports: Performance, Insight, and Achievements. The Performance report shows total clicks, impressions, and related metrics for individual posts and search queries driving traffic.
Platform properties allow advertisers, creators, and publishers to track the search terms leading people to their Instagram, TikTok, X, and YouTube content on Search, and see how audiences interact with the posts.
The reports mirror the structure of existing Search Console reporting for websites but separate data by platform properties. This means a creator or publisher can review performance for each social media platform independently rather than combining signals into one.
