Google Cloud Expands in Brazil with Plan to Double Capacity by 2030

Google Cloud plans to double its cloud capacity in Brazil by 2030, according to Eduardo López, president of Google Cloud for Latin America. This expansion will not only reinforce the company's commitment to the Brazilian market but also keep pace with the rapid adoption of Gemini Enterprise and growing demand for artificial intelligence.

The announcement was made during the Google Cloud Summit Brazil 2026 in São Paulo, where López explained that the doubling of infrastructure will mean a significant increase in processing and service delivery capacity. This could involve expanding existing facilities or building new ones, depending on demand.

Google has continuously invested in data centers in Brazil since 2017, and this expansion will bring its total infrastructure to double what it was between 2026 and 2030. López emphasized that the company does not typically disclose investment figures but stated that a comparison between the two periods gives an idea of the planned investment.

The arrival of Nvidia Blackwell GPUs at the Brazilian data center is also expected, which will enable Brazilian companies to run their most computationally intensive models locally with high performance and low latency. This expansion is seen as a response to customer demand and market evolution in Brazil, where technology adoption is rapid.
