Google Cloud Flags Cost-Related Spikes with New Storage Intelligence Advisor
Google has announced the general availability of Storage Intelligence Advisor for Cloud Storage. This service helps users detect unusual behavior that can affect storage costs or performance by establishing activity baselines and flagging four classes of anomalies.
The advisor requires no setup, but administrators must configure Storage Intelligence and grant relevant IAM permissions before users can view the advisor or follow a finding down to affected resources.
The service currently presents three findings under usage optimization and one under performance. They identify changes in storage behavior, not necessarily proving that an invoice is incorrect or every increase is wasteful.
