Google Cloud has launched a new plugin for the Antigravity Marketplace, designed to enhance the capabilities of autonomous AI agents working with cloud solutions. The google-cloud-developer plugin addresses common challenges agents face, such as using outdated SDK syntax, guessing invalid command flags, or attempting operations without proper Identity and Access Management (IAM) permissions. It also prevents agents from enabling billable APIs or provisioning cloud resources without explicit user consent.
The plugin offers three key benefits: live documentation grounding, safety and cost guardrails, and environment awareness. It connects agents to official Google Cloud documentation, enforces least-privilege IAM patterns, and inspects local environments to design safe execution roadmaps. Installation is straightforward, with a pre-authorized Developer Knowledge Model Context Protocol (MCP) server that eliminates the need for manual API key handling or OAuth token exchange.
The plugin includes several bundled skills, such as dynamic skill discovery, live documentation retrieval, and secure authentication patterns. It also features smart routing rules that allow agents to fetch specialized skills on demand, keeping them fast and token-efficient. Users can install the plugin through the Antigravity Marketplace UI or via a single command line instruction.
After installation, agents automatically ground their answers in current documentation. For example, a query about the differences between GKE and Cloud Run would yield a verified answer based on official documentation. Google Cloud encourages users to share their feedback and experiences with the plugin on social media platforms like LinkedIn, X, or Bluesky.
