Google Cloud Powers Ohio State's AI-Driven Research Revolution

The Ohio State University has partnered with Google Cloud to accelerate scientific discovery and expand technology access on campus. This strategic partnership aims to unite two powerhouses of innovation, creating excellence at scale for students, faculty, and staff.

As part of the initiative, an on-campus AI space will be established in Ohio State's Innovation District, including collaborations with Google DeepMind. The university researchers will gain access to more than 200 AI models, AI-optimized supercomputing systems, and technology from Google DeepMind.

The partnership focuses on driving life-changing scientific discoveries across core research pillars, including biomedical engineering, earth sciences, and the humanities. Researchers tackling complex challenges will have access to advanced scientific models such as AlphaFold and agentic AI like AlphaEvolve through Google DeepMind's access.

The collaboration also includes a student concierge experience powered by Google Cloud's AI, providing personalized assistance with academic advising, registrar services, and career pathway planning. Additionally, a research ambassador program will recruit Ohio State students to work alongside Google teams, gaining hands-on industry experience.
