Google Cuts Ties with Pixel Tablet

Google has effectively ended its tablet range after discontinuing the Pixel Tablet from its online store. The device, launched in 2023 as a hybrid Android tablet and smart home display, had been available for purchase until recently. However, it is now no longer listed on Google's store or at major retailers like Amazon and Best Buy.

The move comes after reports suggested that weak sales and concerns about profitability led to the cancellation of plans for second- and third-generation Pixel Tablets. The first generation was still available through smaller online retailers or resellers, but this option has also been removed. Current owners will continue to receive software updates until mid-2028.

The Pixel Tablet's failure to achieve commercial success may be attributed to a mixed response from customers following its launch. Google had initially planned to release subsequent models in 2025 and 2027, but these plans were withdrawn in 2024 due to low sales and profitability concerns.
