Google Drive Ends Photo Backup Feature: What Are Your Options?

Google Drive has ended automatic photo backups to Google Photos from desktop computers. The change took effect in August this year, when Google Drive for desktop stopped supporting backing up photos and videos to Google Photos.

For users who relied on this feature, there are alternatives available. Google offers a new computer folder-backup option within Google Photos that allows users to back up photos and videos from selected folders on their computer directly to Google Photos.

Other options include Microsoft OneDrive, Dropbox, and Amazon Photos. These services offer cloud storage for photos and other files, with varying features and benefits.
