Google enhances Pixel Buds with major software update
Google has rolled out a significant software update for its Pixel Buds lineup, including the Pro, Pro 2, and Buds 2a models. The update introduces a range of new features designed to enhance user experience, with the Pixel Buds Pro 2 receiving an exclusive upgrade to Dynamic Active Noise Cancellation (ANC). This feature, first announced at the Pixel 11 launch, adjusts audio and ANC settings in real time based on how securely the earbuds fit in the user's ear.
In addition to the ANC upgrade, all three models now benefit from enhanced Live Translate capabilities. Users can now initiate translations directly from their earbuds without needing to access their phone, making it easier to communicate in foreign languages while on the go. The update also introduces voice control via Gemini, allowing users to adjust settings like ANC, EQ, and touch controls using voice commands.
Other notable additions include a tap-to-mute feature for calls, which lets users mute and unmute their microphone with a simple tap. The update also brings an auto-pause feature for media playback during sleep, using sleep sensing features from the Pixel Watch to pause audio, disable touch gestures, and silence notifications when the user falls asleep.
These updates are now available for Pixel Buds users, offering improved functionality and convenience across the board.
