Billy Joel's publicist has denied speculation about his death after a reported Google error led some users to believe the singer had passed away.

The confusion started when a search result on Google listed September 17 as Joel's date of death, sparking social media users to share their concerns and confusion.

However, a representative for the 77-year-old musician confirmed in an email to USA TODAY that Joel is still alive.

This comes after Joel discussed his health on SiriusXM’s The Billy Joel Channel last week, reassuring fans that he was okay and had undergone surgery to implant a shunt in his brain due to a brain disorder called normal pressure hydrocephalus.
