Google Fixes 42 Chrome Security Flaws, Urges Immediate Update

Google has addressed 42 security vulnerabilities in Chrome, including three critical risks. The flaws affect Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, and iOS users.

The majority of the fixes target use-after-free memory bugs, which are serious enough to warrant immediate attention despite none being exploited yet.

The new versions of Chrome include 153.0.8010.47/48 for Windows and macOS, and 153.0.8010.47 for Linux. Users should update now via the About Google Chrome menu to stay protected.

Google discovered 26 vulnerabilities internally and received help from external researchers, awarding them $2,500 in bounties. The most common type of vulnerability is use-after-free, with 12 instances.
