Google Funds 96 MW Power Boost at Two Georgia Nuclear Plants

Alphabet's Google has agreed to fund capacity increases at two nuclear plants in Georgia, the Vogtle and Hatch facilities operated by Southern Co. subsidiary.

The project will add about 96 megawatts of new power supplies as a result of an uprate, which involves replacing mechanical gear to expand reactor output.

Google will finance this expansion through a new tariff, according to a statement from the company on Monday, September 21, 2026.
