Google Hands Off Phone Calls to Gemini AI in Beta Test

Google has launched its Call for Me feature in beta for US users over 18. This AI-powered tool lets Gemini, Google's assistant, make phone calls on your behalf to businesses. You can request a quote, check store hours, or find out if a product is available.

The feature builds on Google's earlier Duplex technology and can even share personal information with businesses when users grant permission. To use Call for Me, you'll need a Google AI subscription starting at $4.99 per month, along with a Pixel 11 or higher device.

Google says access will roll out gradually, so some eligible users won't receive it immediately. The feature joins other Pixel tools like Direct My Call and Hold for Me.
