Google Home App Bug Triggers Smart Lights on iOS

A bug in the Google Home app for iOS is causing smart lights to turn on automatically whenever users open the app.

The issue, which appears to be confined to the iOS app, affects multiple brands of smart lights, including Govee, Philips Hue, Tapo, and Kasa.

Users have reported that attempting to switch off the lights manually is futile, as they are forced back on just seconds later.

Some users have resorted to unlinking their third-party accounts or force-quitting the app altogether, while others have temporarily unplugged their smart lighting devices.
