Google Lands $10M Spirit Airlines Data Deal for AI Training
Google has secured a massive haul of internal business data from Spirit Airlines for $10 million. The data includes 100 million company emails, 500 million Microsoft Teams chats, and 30 million lines of code.
The data was acquired through an auction process, with Google outbidding several competitors, including Mercor.io Corp. This is part of a growing trend where companies are willing to pay big money for proprietary business data to improve their AI models.
Google has assured that the personally identifiable information in the data will be scrubbed by a third-party service provider before it gets access to it.
