Google Launches AI-Powered Image Editor with Graphic Design Capabilities

Google has launched a new image editor called Google Pics, which is available to users subscribed to its AI Pro or AI Ultra plans. The web app offers a range of tools for graphic design and image editing, including text prompts and style boxes.

The app uses the Nano Banana AI image generation model and can create new images from scratch or edit existing ones. Users can type in an image prompt, similar to the Gemini app, and receive four or five alternatives as thumbnails on the left.

Google Pics also allows users to load in their own photos and manipulate them with various effects, including turning them into watercolors or comics. However, the app is limited in its functionality and lacks features such as traditional resizing options and layers.
