Google Lowers Follower Threshold for Search Profiles to 10,000
Google has lowered the follower threshold for Search profiles to 10,000. This change affects media companies and creators who can now claim a profile with at least 10,000 followers across YouTube, Instagram, X, or TikTok.
The original threshold was higher, requiring 100,000 followers on YouTube, Instagram, or X, or 300,000 on TikTok. However, Google has been lowering the thresholds over the past few months, starting with a reduction to 35,000 followers across all four platforms.
Another significant change is that media companies with multiple brands can now use one login to manage their Search profiles. This means creators and publishers no longer need to juggle multiple accounts for each brand.
