Google Maps Adds McLaren F1 Car Avatar for US Grand Prix
Google Maps has introduced a new feature that allows users to transform their car's driving avatar into a McLaren F1 racing car. This update is part of a limited-time promotion celebrating the US Grand Prix, which will take place in Las Vegas from October 22-25. The McLaren F1 avatar will be available until November 23, 2026, according to Google's announcement.
The new avatar can be seen on both smartphone screens and car displays via Android Auto or Apple CarPlay. Users can customize their driving avatar by navigating to Google Maps > Settings > Your vehicles > Driving avatar. This change is being rolled out as a server-side update, meaning it may take some time to appear for all users.
Google has emphasized that this feature is temporary and tied to the upcoming Grand Prix event. The company's partnership with McLaren brings a touch of high-speed racing excitement to everyday navigation.
