Google Maps Gets Major Revamp with Food Ordering and Live Transit Updates

Google Maps has been revamped with several new features, including the ability to order food directly from the app. Using Ask Maps, users can simply tell Google what they want to eat and the app will find open restaurants along their route that serve that dish. Once a restaurant is selected, the user can add their desired dish to their cart for review and completion of the order.

The feature, which is currently rolling out in the US with partners like Square and Toast, will soon be available globally. It's not the only new addition to Ask Maps - users can also discover information about local hotels and events, compare real-time prices, and check availability for booking or buying tickets.

Ask Maps has also been improved with live transit updates, allowing users to stay informed about up-to-the-minute delays on their bus, train, subway, or ferry rides. Additionally, the app can remember past conversations with users, allowing them to pick up where they left off if they reopen Ask Maps.
