Google Messages Beta Enables Group Chat Invite Links

Google's Messages app has been working on introducing group chat invite links since last year. Although it's still not available by default, a recent beta version of the app made these links functional.

This feature will allow users to share text links or QR codes with others to join their group chats. The system is now fully operational, and we were able to generate working invite links during our testing.

In the settings for each group chat, there'll be an 'Invite via link' option that can be turned on and off. This view will also include choices to copy the group chat link to the clipboard, forward it inside Messages, or share it with any other app.

Invite links and QR codes will automatically reset every 30 days, and members of chats with invite links active can manually reset them at any time.
