Google, Microsoft, and Amazon Weigh Partnership with China's Moonshot AI
Moonshot AI is in talks with Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, and Amazon Web Services to host its Kimi K3 model. The startup is seeking up to 30% of the income from services related to K3.
The partnership could be the first substantial revenue-sharing contract between a Chinese AI business and a major U.S. cloud provider, despite concerns from Washington about China's access to advanced artificial intelligence technology.
Kimi K3 has already impressed with its performance on third-party benchmark scores, competing with top U.S. systems on complex tasks.
The talks are still preliminary, with issues such as revenue sharing, data access, and usage audits remaining outstanding.
