Google Photos Integrates Gemini Spark AI Agent for Enhanced Photo Management
Google Photos has expanded its capabilities to include support from Gemini Spark, Google's personal AI agent. This update allows eligible users in the US who subscribe to Google Photos' AI Pro and Ultra plans to manage their photo libraries using natural-language prompts.
The feature is rolling out gradually over the coming weeks to users aged 18 and above who speak English. Once connected to Gemini and Spark enabled within the app, users can ask the agent to edit images, curate albums, share photos via Gmail or Messages, and even turn event flyers into calendar appointments after checking for scheduling conflicts.
Spark's capabilities also extend to recurring background workflows, such as automatically compiling weekly photo highlights into a shared album and drafting a recap email. This feature is currently limited to users in the US, with no confirmed timeline for an international rollout.
