Google Photos Introduces Easy-to-Use Redact Tool for Sensitive Info

Google Photos has added a new feature called Redact to help users protect their sensitive information. This tool is available on Android devices and can be accessed by opening a photo or screenshot in Google Photos, tapping Edit, and heading to the Markup section.

The Redact tool uses a pixelated blur effect to conceal private text, account numbers, and faces in an image. To use it, users simply need to select the Redact pen, choose their preferred blur style, and adjust the brush thickness as needed. They can then draw directly over the sensitive information they want to conceal.

Once a user has finished editing, they can tap the checkmark icon and select Save as copy in the top-right corner to preserve their original unedited photo. This feature is designed to be easy to use and helps users protect their personal data with just a single swipe.
