Google Photos' Shift to AI Excludes Manual Editing

Marvin, a Features Author for Android Police, has been using Google Photos as his all-in-one gallery app to backup and edit photos. However, with recent updates prioritizing AI-generated features, Marvin found himself pushed away from manual editing tools.

The app's emphasis on Ask Photos, Nano Banana, and AI-generated creations overshadowed the manual editing capabilities, forcing Marvin to reconsider his editing tool of choice.

He decided to switch back to Snapseed, a photo-editing app he had used in the past when Google Photos lacked comprehensive editing tools. Snapseed offers more manual control over edits, which Marvin finds essential for developing unique photos.
