Google Photos to Introduce Consistent Home Feed Option

Google Photos is planning to introduce a new feature that will allow users to maintain a consistent-looking home feed. Currently, the app allows users to choose between three layouts for their media: Comfortable, Day, and Month. However, in some of these layouts, photo or video thumbnails appear larger than others.

A toggle called 'Feature photos' has been discovered in version 7.92.0 of Google Photos, which lets users disable the automatic enlargement of photos on the grid. This feature is currently only available for Day and Month layouts, but it's unclear if this will be a permanent limitation or if it will also apply to the Comfortable layout.

The toggle is described as being able to 'automatically enlarge photos in your grid to highlight notable moments.' It's possible that this feature may be enabled by default when it rolls out, and disabling it would give users a more uniform look for their home page.
