Google Pixel Tag Enters Bluetooth Tracker Market with Unique Features
Google has finally entered the Bluetooth tracker market with its own version of an AirTag, called the Google Pixel Tag. The device costs $30 and is specifically designed for Android devices, relying on Google's Find Hub network for location tracking.
The Pixel Tag works similarly to other Bluetooth trackers, offering features such as seamless pairing, precision tracking, item sharing, and the option to ring the tag. However, it also has a unique feature called Left Behind that can notify users when they leave an item behind, similar to Apple's Notify When Left Behind functionality.
One of the most convenient uses for the Pixel Tag is finding your Android phone, as you can simply press the button on the tag and it will start ringing if your phone is within range. This feature is especially useful for kids or elderly people who may not have a separate device to use in case their phone goes missing.
Another practical application of the Pixel Tag is locating your car in a large parking lot, as you can place one in your vehicle and then use the Find Hub app on your Android to get directions to where it's parked. You can also attach a Pixel Tag to your luggage or bags when traveling, so you'll receive an alert if you leave something behind.
The Pixel Tag is also useful for keeping track of your kids in public places, as they can wear one as a bracelet or hide it in their pocket. Additionally, you can use the tag to keep tabs on important documents like birth certificates and insurance papers by attaching it to the folder where you store them.
