Google Pixel Watch 5 Review: Gemini Support and Fitness Features
The Google Pixel Watch 5 is a smartwatch that supports Gemini and offers various features for fitness tracking, sleep monitoring, and more. To use the watch, users must pair it with their smartphone via Bluetooth, which can be done on any Android device running version 12.0 or later.
After pairing, users can log in to their Google account to access services such as Find Hub and enable features like fitness tracking. The watch also allows users to take screenshots by pressing the side button and crown simultaneously.
The watch's home screen displays a prominent clock, Gemini buttons on the left, and fitness function buttons on the right. Users can select from over 50 categories of activities, including running and hiking, and record their progress. The watch also tracks heart rate, estimated calories burned, aerobic exercise intensity, and activity time during workouts.
The sleep tracking feature detects and records sleep while wearing the smartwatch, analyzing several sleep states, such as difficulty falling asleep. Users can view additional details in the Google Health app on their smartphone under categories like Fitness, Sleep, and Health.
The watch's battery life is advertised as up to 30 hours with an always-on display, but actual testing showed nearly 36 hours of continuous wear. Charging is fast, recovering from 0% to 65% in 15 minutes, reaching 93% in 30 minutes, and fully charging in less than 50 minutes.
