Google and VALOREM Group have signed a ten-year wind power purchase agreement to supply clean electricity in Finland. The deal, finalized in 2024, covers electricity from the Matkussaari onshore wind farm in Kurikka, South Ostrobothnia, which became operational in May 2025.

The 148.5 MW wind farm is part of the VIIATTI project, the largest wind power development VALOREM has ever built, with a total capacity of 313.5 MW. The agreement positions both companies as active participants in Finnish grid management, providing ancillary services to support stability.

The pay-as-produced structure means Google pays for electricity as the turbines generate it, reducing risk for both parties and giving VALOREM a bankable revenue stream. This deal marks a new chapter for Google's Finnish footprint, which dates back to 2011, and for VALOREM as an independent renewable energy producer expanding its presence in the Nordic market.
