Google Settles Trade Secrets Case Over Chip Technology License
Google has reached a settlement in principle with Point Financial Inc., a venture lender, over a royalty-free license to use CNEX Labs Inc.'s intellectual property. The agreement comes just before a trial was set to start next month.
The US District Court for the Northern District of California will be notified that the parties expect to finalize their deal and file a stipulation of dismissal within 30 days.
A preliminary injunction preventing PFI from interfering with chip production remains in place. The case centered around a royalty-free license to use CNEX Labs' intellectual property, which Google claimed was essential for its chip technology.
