Google Shares Rebound on Gemini 4 Launch Timeline
Alphabet Inc.'s shares rose 0.6% overnight after closing 3.8% lower in Wednesday's regular session due to investor concerns over competition from Meta's Muse AI agent.
The drop was triggered by the success of Meta's Muse, which climbed to the top of the U.S. free-app charts and gained traction among consumers.
Koray Kavukcuoglu, Google DeepMind chief, said Gemini 4 has entered early post-training and is expected to launch ahead of year-end, much earlier than initially thought.
This news comes as OpenAI and Anthropic executives urged governments to cooperate on global AI safety standards at the UN, warning that AI could carry potentially catastrophic consequences if poorly managed.
