Google Taps Israeli Talent for AI Chip Development
Google is expanding its chip development operations in Israel by assembling a team led by former Hailo executive Guy Kaminitz to develop AI chips for edge devices, including robots and autonomous systems.
The tech giant has also hired former Pliops CEO Ido Bukspan to lead data networking chip development. This move comes as Google looks to tap into the talent in Israel's thriving start-up scene.
Google is focusing on developing AI chips that can be used in edge devices, which are designed for specific tasks and do not require powerful processing power like laptops or smartphones.
