Google has begun testing a buy button on Flipkart product listings inside Gemini and AI Mode in India. The test, reported by TechCrunch on September 26, 2026, involves select users seeing a Buy button next to Amazon listings, but only the Flipkart listings have a direct purchase option.

The scope of the test is small, with some users, three product categories, and a broader rollout planned for later in October. Google's spokesperson stated that the company 'is always testing new features and experiences to help people discover and connect with businesses more easily.'

Flipkart, owned by Walmart, did not respond to a request for comment.
